On Wednesday afternoon, a group of Democratic Party parliamentarians held a dialogue gathering with the citizens of Cërrik on the topic, “The 2015’s Budget: increased taxes, luxury for the government, and the impoverishment of citizens”. For about 90 minutes, the parliament members, Arben Imami, Ardian Turku, AlbanaVokshi and Jorida Tabaku, together with a group of specialists from different fields interacted with Cërrik’s citizens, and expressed their regret for the extremely difficult economic situation the majority of Albanians are currently facing. The Cërrik’s mayor, Servet Duzhe, introduced the participants with figures and facts about the extremely critical daily live situation. According to him, the government has not disbursed or funded yet the 300 million lek for the damages caused by the earthquake that hit Cërrik this summer, and the funds that were planned for this purpose in the state budget have been reduced by more than 15%.
The parliament member, Albana Vokshi emphasized that the budget of the 2015 fiscal year, is a budget that favors mostly the government members, rather than the common people. According to her, Cërrik is one of the many cities of our country, which is overwhelmed by the numerous social problems. Vokshi said that this government is exercising pressure on citizens, who fall asleep to wake up with the fear that the police will put penalties to them, will have the electricity cut off, and will have their houses destroyed. This is the face of a police state. Whereas, Arben Imami, besides inviting the Cërrik’s people to join the protest of November 22nd, stressed that the Democratic Party had warned the Albanians before the 23rd of June, to not be deceived by the promises of those who after coming into power, have emerged as one of the most unpopular governments of this country. Even Jorida Tabaku has been quite harsh by criticizing the “Rama” government, and the “2015 Budget”. On the other hand, dozens of Cërrik citizens participating in this gathering have denounced the doings of this state and the increasing impoverishment of citizens, which has reached already frightening proportions.
