The State Sanitary Inspectorate (SSI) assigned fines to six night clubs as the inspection in their premises showed it was being smoked. During an inspection carried out in the weekend, the health inspectors observed that some clubs were not complying with the law “For protecting health from tobacco products”. For this reason, SSI took measures up to the value 350,000 ALL for the night clubs not implementing the law, as well as to their owners and administrators. The clubs taken measures against were: “MATRIX”, “MUMJA”, “ARENA”, “MOSCOW”, “TABOO” and “DREAM CITY”. The Health Minister, Ilir Beqaj was present during the checks conducted on the majority of the night clubs during the weekend.
The inspection was conducted under the supervision of the Head of the Inspectorate, Eltar Deda based on the law “For the Inspection in the Republic of Albania”. During this intervention, the Health Ministry stated that will support the State Sanitary Inspectorate. “The presence of Mr. Beqaj during the checks emphasizes once again the determination of the Health Ministry to support the State Sanitary Inspectorate in implementing without any hesitation the law 9636 dated 06.11.2006 changed “For the protection of health form tobacco products”, declared SSI. On behalf of the State Sanitary Inspectorate is stressed the determination to implement the law continuously and to have a zero tolerance to the subjects violating the law.
