Saranda – The Saranda Court has sentenced to two years in prison, this Wednesday, Agron Cane, former secretary of the Socialist MP’s office, Koço Kokëdhima, who requested to have relationship with the 14 year old girl and her mother in exchange of a job.
The jury led by the judge Ketra Bajrami, after three court proceedings, found that the 62 year old man Cane was guilty for two penal acts “exercise of the illegal impact” and “sexual harassment”.
Even though the request of the Prosecutor’s Office was completely accepted by the justice system, Agron Cane escaped the punishment with three years of imprisonment, as the defendant asked accelerated trial by benefiting a 1/3 reduction from his sentence. The three court sessions on proclaiming the decision about Cane were held with closed doors due to the specificity of the penal act. During the announcement of his sentence, Cane did not say any word.
Meantime, the Prosecutor’s office have requested three years of imprisonment for the defendant, whereas his two defence lawyers, Idajet Beqiri and Gjergj Imeraj, asked for his innocence, as according to them the evidences were edited out. The former secretary of the MP’s office, Koço Kokëdhima in Saranda was arrested by the police on 16 August, after the publication of a video-scandal that was registered in the local office of the Socialist Party in Saranda town. The scandal was firstly published in the investigative website www.investigim.al.
Idajet Beqiri, the defence layer of Agron Cane, says that being the representative of the defence side he does not want to take the role of devil, but in this concrete case we have to do with an editing for clear political motifs.
“Agron Cane was not the target of this attack, because as he declared, he is really innocent from all the points of view, whereas the attack is for elsewhere”, says Beqiri.
According to him, his client was sentenced since 16 August, the day he was arrested. “The Court found him guilty and finally sentenced him for both penal acts to two years in prison. The defence presented in its conclusions all the factors and circumstances that were considered as being falsified and the recordings and registrations that were taped were rejected even from the Prosecutor’s office”, underlines Beqiri. “Every editing is contrary to the Penal Code. The court prefers better to destroy her decision, rather than be confronted with the public opinion. The judges do fear the journalists rather than the law”, says Beqiri. G., the mother of the 14 year old girl, feels relieved after the decision of the Saranda Court to sentence Agron Cane to two years in prison. “It is much better a bad justice, rather than innocence for the man who for 5 successive months wanted to have sexual relationship with my daughter and me”, says E.G. According to her, the punishment to Agron Cane was minimal, but her action was the right one. “Now, I am totally convinced that the actions that I undertook to unmask in the media Cane was totally the right one, as to me being mother of four children is intolerable to ‘market’ the virginity of my daughter for a job, even though I live in poverty”, highlights E.G. Furthermore, E.G. underlines that to Agron Cane and the businessman Kostaq Lapa, the latter had accused the mother of the 14 year old girl in a daily national newspaper as being ‘a prostitute’, she will undertake a civilian trial to ask for compensation. “The compensation is the last thing that I think, but I want to teach a lesson to the irresponsible people that try to denigrate the figure of the woman, just because she protected her daughter”, says E.G.
The dialogue between Agron Cane and E. G, 40 years old, took place in the office of the right wing MP, Koço Kokëdhima, in the premises of the Socialist Party in Saranda town, in the southern part of the country. The woman, a 40 year old widow, mother of four children, has asked him to find her a job, whereas the answer she receives from Cane is that she must bring her 14 year old daughter, who according to him needs to have sex. “Your daughter is quite grown up, she has hormones. She must have sex with me. You can have both of you sex with me”. “You, your daughter and I will lay, the three of us, in the bed. Under your control she will be your student, hence, phone her to come, I am looking forward to her”. “You do not have to worry. Your daughter has become a fixation on me. Her friends have done this thing a long time ago. I stamp on it. She will be released as she has a lot of hormones, the girl needs to have sex”, he said. “You know how is the issue with the female, like Vasiliko (a flower), which the more you water, the better becomes its leaf, whereas the female, the earlier has sex, the freshest she is”, adds Cane. When the woman says that when it comes to her daughter, especially being at her age, this is something that surpasses the limits, but Cane assures her that the girl will not have any harm, as he may be elected the mayor of Saranda and even the “cock will lay eggs” for the girl. “I do not want to say many words, as seems like boasting, but God willing, and I am elected the mayor of municipality, you have to know that your daughter will make her future”, expresses Agron Cane. “You have your daughter under your complete control. I see it on your eyes. Being under your control she will be your student, hence, phone her to come, I am looking forward to her”, says Agron Cane. During the conversation, Agron tells that he has had offers from the females, but he has not accepted them, saying that he is not a sexual maniac. “I am not a maniac, as I have a wife. I like the beautiful things and I do this with pleasure”, is heard in the video.
