The “thug” dogs of the capital could be ambushed at any time. They are present every day, not just on the streets but peripheral to the center of Tirana. The greatest danger that it comes from them is that they are carriers of the infectious diseases. Unfortunately the gangs of the street dogs do not save or areas near hospitals.
The waste in the grounds of University Hospital Center, attract infected dog there, seeking food comprising concern for the sick people or not. Wherever you are if you happen to be bitten by a cur, should turn to a specialist as can various diseases transmitted to us.
According to Mazar Bruna a veterinary doctor, have to be careful and not to neglect any opportunity to attack “thug” dogs and contagious disease. “Not all stray dogs are sick and aggressive. But generally these malnourished dogs well, carry several diseases such as scabies, rabies, dermatophytosis, which can be obtained by the contact with infected animals but especially by biting them, “- Bruna Mazari explains. In many cases we hear about the attacking citizens, particularly of the night, the dogs that roam the streets freely. In such cases, doctors recommend to be done the tetanus.
The veterinary doctor, Bruna Mazari: “When a person is bitten by a dog, especially by those who are vaccinated, the vaccine must be done tetanus. It is thought that dogs have the apparatus of the mouth what is called tetanus closidum, can deliver to the infections during bite “following veterinary doctor, Mazari.
Even if there are dangerous for anyone dealing with dogs on the street is an unpleasant and frightening experience. Some feel only pity … “I’m not afraid but I am sorry as I see on the streets. There are several veterinary hospitals that can be transported. The municipality must provide a fund that these dogs can be treated as in other countries, “said a citizen in his thirties.
The dust and the high temperatures increase even more the fear of the infection from diseases of the dogs vaccinated. “At the height of the heat is too scared to walk around the streets as the dog that may becomes aggressive. It seems necessary that they be vaccinated because they are a problem not only for the children but also for the adults “- insists an elderly lady.
As we go for a walk at the Lake Hills, appears to be careful not to provoke the dogs that seem to be snuggled in their territory. Not only wander through the area but even sleep next to people who have gone there for picnic. This is not only artificial lake landscape. Even the train station area the presence of these uncomfortable animals, is visible. Near the old clothes market mainly in the contaminated environments, dogs find their favorite spaces.
The Student City also looks like a favorite gathering place to stray the dogs, which many times are shown aggressive with the students. This remains a reality that accompanies us every day. We walk across the street accompanied from the “thug ” dogs! Not all dogs that wander in the streets have bad luck forever remain adrift. In Albania, mainly in Tirana, although remaining low, increased cases of citizens who stray dogs and take care of them.
The veterinarians make constant appeals in this regard. Unvaccinated dogs “Whenever you advise citizens the opportunity to take a stray dog, especially small children, vaccinate them regularly to maximize it. Such dogs become more approachable and more loyal than a dog who can buy expensive store. “- veterinary Mazari, also referred to by her experience.
Recently in Albania is increased citizen awareness for the care to be given to the animals, especially to the dogs. However, there have been a few cases when Tirana municipality has taken actions to kill street dogs at night. This has not proved an effective solution being criticized by the organizations or the individuals that protect the animals. Reality in Tirana in any way, tells us that the state can not vaccinates or collect them in a suitable environments where people are not in danger. Perhaps we should do as citizens, to feed, vaccinate and return the dogs to track. But do we have a culture of doing something like that?
